Obituary of John W. “Jack” Schuler
On Monday, September 21, 2020, John (Jack) Schuler, loving husband and father of six children, passed away at the age of 77. Jack was born on October 8, 1942 to Virginia M. (Beck) and John F. Schuler. Growing up in the Silverton/Kenwood area of Cincinnati, Jack attended Purcell and Central High School where he graduated in 1961. Jack was the second oldest of four children enjoying a life with his older sister Sally and younger brothers Bob and Jeff. Jack utilized his mechanical gifts while serving our country as an Air Force Reserve for four years. Soon after, he went to work at Cincinnati Milacron, where he stayed for over 35 years. While in high school, he met his lifelong sweetheart, Sherry Riehle. The two would marry, in 1965, enjoying 55 years together in matrimony. Jack had a knack for mechanics and coming from a family with roots in the auto industry, he had an unmistakable love for cars all of his life. Indeed, for years you could find Jack at a car show as he worked to refurbish his very own 1957 Chevy, complete with a meticulously built 355 engine.
All who came to know Jack held him in the highest regard as a caring, loving, and humble man. As a devout Catholic he led a faithful life. His sons and daughters continue to be a source of tremendous pride and joy as are his 14 beautiful Grandchildren. All of those who adored him, their “Papaw,” shared individual memories of fishing, hikes, camping, travel, “fine” Scotch, cigars, and a life well lived. Although gone too soon, Jack’s life has made a profound impact on those he has temporarily left behind.
Jack is survived by his loving and devoted wife Cheryl (Riehle) Schuler.
He is also survived by his sons and daughters:
• Denny Schuler, his wife Lyndsay (Levy), and grandchildren Jake and Hannah
