Obituary of Harold W. Weisgerber
Harold W. Weisgerber, 92, of Reading, Ohio, passed away peacefully December 29, 2020. Harold was born in Cincinnati to Frederick H. and Josephine (nee Hogan) Weisgerber on August 8, 1928 and grew up in Norwood, Ohio. He married Eileen (nee Recker) Weisgerber August 27, 1949 and was a devoted father to their seven children, David (Patty), Nancy DeVore (Michael), Robert (Teresa), Steven, Gregory, Mark (Becky) and Michael (Gina). He is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Preceding Harold in death are Eileen, his wife of 55 years, his brother Louis and his sister, Marilyn Williams.
Harold served in the US Air Force Reserves and in the U.S. Army reserves, and was a Cpl in the US Army. While helping Eileen raise their 7 children, he attended evening classes at UC to obtain his bachelor’s degree in mathematics followed by obtaining his professional engineer’s license. He worked many years for Kirk and Blum Manufacturing and retired as their head of engineering. He was a longtime member of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church in Reading, Ohio.
He and Eileen always enjoyed dancing and going camping and boating with the family. He continued to attend dances often and enjoyed travelling in his later years.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 5th, for immediate family. A Catholic Mass for the repose of his soul will be held at St. Columban Church, Loveland, Ohio, at 11:00 a.m. Attendance is limited with spacing and masks required. A grave side service will be held for family only at 2:00 at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. The family asks that memorials be sent to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
