Obituary of Deborah Hogan

Deborah May Hogan passed from this life after a brief illness on July 20, 2021. She was born in New Castle, Indiana on May 29, 1936, but lived her life in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was a graduate of Walnut Hills High School and attended the University of Cincinnati before marrying David Taylor. Together, they raised three children, divorcing in 1974. In 1980, she married James Hogan, her loving and devoted husband. Debby had a driving curiosity about people and the world. She loved politics and started the first Ohio chapter of the League of Conservation Voters. She worked in the office of US Congressional Representative Willis Gradison, and then for the advertising and public relations firm of Hogan, Nolan and Stites. She loved art and architecture, but most of all, she loved traveling the globe to take in the experiences of diverse cultures, and she loved to share that passion through generous family trips with her sons and their families. She purchased a family cottage on the shores of Grand Traverse Bay where, for over 20 years, family gathered to enjoy the many pleasures of northern Michigan. She gave her family, including many grandchildren, priceless memories they will cherish forever. She is survived by her husband, James Hogan, sister Caroline Morris (Richard), children/step-children Stephan Taylor (Elizabeth Stumbo) and Christopher Taylor (Dina), Jay Hogan (Todd Hildebrandt), Cynthia Hogan (Mark Katz), Sean Hogan (Elizabeth) and Paul Hogan, and grandchildren Rachel and Sarah Taylor, Matthew, Alec and Katherine Taylor, Julia and David Katz, Emily Hogan, Bayley Hogan and Heidi Ferneding, Bianca and Luca Mannerino. She was pre-deceased by her son, David Taylor, Jr (Amy Walinski). She has elected to donate her body to the University of Cincinnati Medical School.
