Obituary of Margie Belk

Margie B. Belk (nee Margie Rae Bonds) Margie passed away peacefully in the early morning of October 9, 2021 at the age of 94. Margie was born in Kannapolis, North Carolina on January 25, 1927. Daughter of Mary Alice Bonds (nee Erwin) and Bennie Robert Bonds. Margie married Sammie Belk in 1947. In 1957 they moved to Dawson Road in Madeira, where they made their home for the next 60 years. Margie stayed at home raising her children until she began working at Kenwood McAlpin’s. In 1990 she retired and loved nothing more than spending time with her three grandchildren. Margie was a kind, loving, devoted mother and grandmother. She will be missed by all who knew her. Margie was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Samuel Alan Belk. Margie is survived by her children Cynthia Belk Liu , husband Philip, Michael Alan Belk, wife Marsha and their children, Olivia Marie, Samantha Reed, and Gabriel Augustus. Margie is also survived by her loving sister Kaye Overcash (nee Bonds) of Harrisburg, North Carolina, and her cousin Betty Burleson (nee Benton), in addition to their children and grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, a memorial gift can be made to St Paul Community United Methodist Church, 8221 Miami Avenue, Madeira, Ohio 45243. Services are being held privately.
