Obituary of Ronald G. Smith

Obituary of Ronald Glenn Smith Loveland, OH – Ronald Glenn Smith, age 53, passed away with his wife by his side on November 25, 2021. Ron was born on October 14, 1968, to W. Ralph Smith and the late Janice M. Smith (Hubbs). He was a devoted husband to wife of 21 years, Kathleen Smith (Weeks), a loving father to Leah and Sam, and a big brother to Tonya Hutzel. In addition, Ron leaves behind lots of family and friends whom he loved. Ron was a life-long resident of Cincinnati, graduating from Norwood High School in 1987. He often reminisced about playing basketball and being a lifeguard at the Norwood Recreation Center. He earned a Business Degree from Miami University (1991) and worked for Fifth Third Bank for several years. He later earned his Juris Doctorate from University of Cincinnati’s College of Law (1998) where he developed lifelong friendships and spent many seasons on the softball field with his lawyer teammates. Ron practiced law for the last 20+ years, most recently in private practice. Ron’s proudest accomplishment was being a dad to Leah and Sam. He loved spending time with family, including trips to Hilton Head Island, backyard fire pits, and playing a few originals on his guitar. Ron never missed his kids’ athletic events and could often be heard cheering on the sidelines of Sam’s soccer and basketball games. Ron shared his love of everything 80s with Leah, taking her to see Billy Joel in middle school. Ron loved his wife, Kathleen, and frequently referred to her as ‘The Best Mommy Ever’. The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 4th, 2021, from 11:00 AM to 2:00PM at the Thomas-Justin Memorial Funeral Home at 7500 Montgomery Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45236. The family requests masks during the visitation.
