Obituary of Margaret E. Frank

Margaret Elizabeth Frank, age 100, of Cincinnati, Ohio, died Sunday, September 18, 2022. Margaret was born on March 13, 1922, in Covington, Kentucky, daughter of George and Margaret (Waldkoenig) Kohne. She lived in Cincinnati, Ohio, for most of her life. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Anthony Frank, two brothers (Anthony and Elmer Kohne) and two sisters (Rosemary Schatzel and Clara Stark). Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter Glenna Frank Miller (William) of Ann Arbor, Michigan, and her son Terence Frank (Jill) of Madeira, Ohio; five grandchildren Matthew Miller (Heidi), Julie Miller, Amelia Frank, Peter Frank (Gillian) and Leah Frank; and four great-grandchildren William Miller, Isabelle Miller, Zachary Everett and Annabelle Everett. Margaret left loving nieces and nephews and longtime friends. Margaret lived in Silverton for most of her adult life, then moved to the Evergreen Retirement Community, and finally The Kenwood where she enjoyed new friends and activities. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Deer Park and St. Gertrude Catholic Church in Madeira. Margaret was a force of nature! She fiercely loved her family, and they were always her top priority. She advocated for their education and saw it as a path to a fulfilling life. She attended baptisms, recitals, athletic events, concerts, award ceremonies and graduations. The PTA and the Girl and Boy Scouts at St. John’s all benefited from her participation. She attended the University of Cincinnati Raymond Walters campus for the interior design program. Margaret’s career spanned several workplaces including General Electric, Container Corporation, AAA, Lazarus and Pogue’s. She worked until she was 79, always with tremendous energy. Margaret loved to celebrate, travel with family, and attend special events. She was a fashion statement, tall and thin, with an eye for great design. As a child of the depression, she could stretch a dollar, was a saver for what was important, and a giver too. Margaret loved the holidays and birthdays. She especially appreciated her 90th, 95th and 100th birthday parties. She loved seeing the grandkids excited at the holidays. Her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren were almost all she talked about. She loved holding those babies and taking/giving big hugs. We are grateful for the loving care of her aides from Trinity Queen City Home Care. In her final days she rested in the care of the wonderful nurses and medical staff at the Hospice of Cincinnati Blue Ash acute care center.
