ARMITAGE
D. Joanne, (nee Clark) passed away Thursday, October 18, 2012. She was 79. Jim Armitage, her husband of 52 years, died in 2010. Joanne was born in the same house as her father in Harrisburg, Illinois. She taught elementary school, and especially loved teaching fifth-grade English. Her lifelong passion was art. She worked with oil on canvas, pastels, and charcoal. She also mastered Ikebana, Japanese flower arranging. She was a dedicated and prolific volunteer, particularly for the Presbyterian Church and the Cincinnati Art Museum. An Indian Hill resident, Mrs. Armitage was a member of the Cincinnati Country Club and the Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Most of all Joanne was a loving mother. She is survived by her four children, Elizabeth Armitage (Bill Colohan), Ann Tierney (Chris), Clark Armitage (Leslie) and Glenn Armitage (Jenny), 10 grandchildren, Durham and Sumner Colohan, Ted and Megan Tierney, Maddie, Glenn, Carly and Darcy Armitage, and Michael and Lee Armitage, and her sister, Pat Puntureri.
