Obituary of John P. Blazic
John Phillip Blazic, a loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away in Cincinnati on March 3, 2023, at the age of 71 surrounded by his family. John was born on June 5, 1951, in Baltimore, Maryland, and spent his life dedicated to his family, his profession, his philanthropic endeavors, and golf.
John is survived by his wife Barbara, sons Andrew and John, daughters Katie, Jenny, and Sara, daughter-in-law Melissa, and grandchildren Delaney, Sylvie, Grant, and Clara. He was a devoted family man and took great pride in his children and grandchildren.
John was an accomplished oral surgeon who was known for his expertise and compassion. He was deeply respected by his colleagues and loved by his patients. He had a kind and caring nature, and he always went above and beyond to make sure his patients felt at ease.
John was also known for his love of life and his big personality. He loved to be the center of the party and was always the life of the gathering. He lived to golf and watch football and basketball, and he was an avid fan of the Alabama Crimson Tide. His pride and joy was his hole-in-one on #15 at Apache, and he loved nothing more than beating his friends at dollar sports bets.
John was known for his sense of humor and was always quick to share a joke, which would either be unbearably corny or completely raunchy. He loved to tell stories and could frequently be found repeating his favorites -- his visits to the college football national championship game, the fight at the crosstown shootout, and the time in high school he helped move the principal's VW beetle into his office.
John was a loving and kind man who touched the lives of many people. He will be remembered for his generosity, his sense of humor, and his love of life. He will be deeply missed by all those who knew him, but his memory will live on through his family, his friends, and the many lives he touched during his time on this earth.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider making a donation to a charity in his name. For some inspiration, a few that he supported include the Omaha Home for Boys (an orphanage), the National MS Society, and the Breast Cancer or Lung Cancer Research Foundation. He believed in using his success to make a positive impact on the world, and his generosity and kindness will be deeply missed.
