Obituary of Jane F. Wick
Jane F. (nee Boaden) Wick, of Madeira, passed away peacefully on August 22, 2023, at the age of 84.
She was the beloved wife of the late Robert “Bob” Wick for 38 years. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph A. Majchszak, in 1979.
Cherished mother of Lisa (the late Mark) Schenning, Stephen (Kathy) Majchszak, Marty (Teresa) Majchszak, Sarah (John) Williams, David (Suzanne) Wick and Steven (Jennifer) Wick.
Devoted grandmother of Christopher, Margot, and Adam Schenning; Meagan (Cameran Beg) and William Majchszak; Andrew (Jennifer), Emily, and Ryan Wick; Joe, Julia, and Nicole Majchszak; and Jack, George, and Drew Williams.
Sister of Timothy (Judy) Boaden and the late Margot Boaden, Dennis Boaden, and William Boaden.
Born in Toledo, Ohio to the late Percival and Margaret (nee Murphy) Boaden. Her father had immigrated from England and her English heritage was an integral part of Jane’s essence. Jane was very proud to have been raised by her single father, as her mother passed at an early age. Because of this, Jane developed into an amazing cook, homemaker and an avid gardener that rivaled the best. She will also be remembered by many due to her love of knitting, another passion of hers.
Jane was an active member of Kindervelt and President of the Seven Hills Garden Club from 1997 to 2002. She worked outside of the home as a schoolteacher and travel agent, but her greatest achievement was raising her children and fostering many at-risk children.
Jane and Bob were able to travel extensively, enjoying many trips to England where she explored her heritage. In addition, they were “snow birds” on Longboat Key and spent summers at their home on Kelleys Island in Lake Erie. There Jane hosted many parties, was responsible for the floral displays at the Island Market and was a founding member of the Gail Mack Club in honor of their beloved friend. You could always spot Jane in her coveted pink polka dot golf cart driving around the island helping neighbors or just enjoying the sunshine.
Residing in Madeira for most of their lives, Jane and Bob moved to Traditions at Camargo for their retirement years.
