Obituary of John Edward Zimmer
John Edward Zimmer, passed away unexpectedly on May 8th at the age of 61. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Donald and Joan (nee Morthorst) Zimmer. John leaves behind a cherished family, including his siblings Tim Zimmer, Nancy (Joe) Niemeyer, and Mark (Juliann) Zimmer. He will be dearly missed by his nieces and nephews: David, Tyler (Rachel), Katie, and Peter Niemeyer, Nicole and Alex Zimmer, and Zachary and Quinn Zimmer. John also leaves behind numerous dear cousins and friends.
John was a proud Eagle Scout. He was a true enthusiast, finding joy in cheering for his favorite teams, the Cincinnati Reds and Cincinnati Bengals, and relishing the excitement of Indy and NASCAR races alongside his friends.
Known for his generosity, John was always the first to offer a helping hand, especially when it came to fixing cars. His chocolate fudge and pumpkin pie were legendary, bringing smiles to the faces of all who tasted them.
In honoring John's memory, let us cherish the moments shared and the kindness he extended to all. He will forever remain in our hearts as a loving brother, uncle, and friend. May he rest in peace.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 28th from 4-7PM at Thomas-Justin Memorial, 7500 Montgomery Rd. (45236) Kenwood. Friends are encouraged to wear their favorite Cincinnati Reds, Cincinnati Bengals or NASCAR attire.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, May 29th at 10AM at St. John the Evangelist, 7121 Plainfield Rd. (45236) Deer Park.
Burial will be held privately.
