I was so very saddened when I became aware of Bill's passing. Our friendship began when we were attending Fairfax Elementary School. Our friendship continued at Mariemont High School as Bill was in the class of '57 and myself in '56.
In high school we shared camaraderie and good times, especially as members of the track team. Bill's event was the pole vault.
Through the years we also enjoyed many summer days playing baseball on the not-so-pristine FES ball fields. Of course, fall evenings found us on the basketball court. Bill was a deceptively clever ball handler!
Our friendship was maintained when I moved to Maryland in 1960 and from there eventually to California. Regardless of our geographies, whenever I visited Cincinnati relatives I always connected with Bill in his High Street home. Whenever we would get together, our conversations picked up as casually as if continuing from having last met the day before. During visits Bill would proudly demonstrate the player piano he had so studiously and meticulously refurbished.
So many warm memories.
I miss Bill.
I send thoughts and condolences to Bill's family on their loss.
