My condolences to the family of Dr. Valido, I reached out to schedule a routine doctor's appointment and was told the news of Dr. Valido's passing. He was my doctor for over 23 years. He will be missed.

Another sad day. The price of aging,...watching our friends and family go before us. I lost contact with Ricky after medical school, but he was always one of my favorites among my classmates. In fact, I just invoked his memory just this month when I related a story to my daughter that he told me that I still find humorous. He told me that he and his siblings, though they were offspring of a physician, did not get spoiled by their station in life. His first car and that of all his siblings was a VW Bug. His father told him that is how is was going to be: " A bug-a-piece" is how he quoted dad.

I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. V (that's what I call him) 14 years ago when he delivered my nephew. I was so impressed with how he interacted with my twin sister that I switched practices so he could be my OB. We would talk about traveling and where we were heading to next. He is one of a kind. He will be miss. Thoughts and prayers go out to the Valido family and all the staff at the office.

From the first time I went to see him as a teenager to him delivering my 2 beautiful daughters and continued care as they have grown into teenagers Dr. Valido was a wonderful person and doctor. He joked with me and always made me comfortable in any situation. He will truly be missed. Thoughts and prayers go out to his family during this time.

Dr. Valido was such a sweet soul. Made you feel comfortable from the second he shook your hand and gave you that heartwarming smile. He delivered my youngest safe and sound. I feel lucky to have met him.

Praying for the Valido family. May all of your great memories bring you peace and comfort at this difficult time. I’m thankful to have been a patient of Dr. Valido for 15 yrs. He delivered our oldest child, a son, who passed away suddenly, 4 months before our daughter was born. I remember him coming into the hospital room the day after our daughter was born, and just giving me a hug. In that moment I felt his compassion for our situation. He always asked how my husband and daughter were doing at my appt.

Though by the luck of the draw Dr. Valido didn't deliver any of my 3 daughters, he was my doctor for about 30 years. I often saw glimpses of his wry humor during office visits. When he performed my hysterectomy in 2011 I saw his compassion. While I had only mild anxiety about the surgery leading up to it, a delay before my anesthesia in the operating room caused me to begin to grow anxious while on the table. I believed I was tearing up silently, but Dr. V somehow sensed this, noticed my facial expression, covered my hand with his hand and spoke some comforting, calming words.

I will always be grateful for Dr. Valido. He and Dr. Gennari enabled me to have a healthy twin pregnancy, and now 14 years later I have 2 boys going into 8th grade. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and co-workers during this time.
