LOTT
Micke (Haller) Lott passed away at her home in Sarasota, FL on May 13, 2013 the day after Mother's Day, with family at her side. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio on August 14, 1929, Micke was the only child of John Terry and Mamie Turner of Kentucky and was raised by her Father and Aunt Flo. Micke's family includes her first husband Walter; son Scot Haller (deceased), twin daughters, Lisa Haller (Mike Kelley) and Linda Haller Sloan (Jack Sloan); Jerry Bloom (Scot's partner); second husband George Lott (deceased); stepchildren, Barbara Jones, Leslie Dzialo (Joe), Billy Lott, Caroline Donovan (Mike), and David Lott (deceased); step-grandchildren Sarah, Bryan, Scott, Josh, Allison, and Billy; longtime companion Duke Sterling (deceased) and relatives in Louisville, KY and Holmes Beach, FL. Micke graduated from the University of Cincinnati in 1976 with a double degree and pursued graduate studies in public administration. A life-long civil rights advocate, Micke was the founding Director of the Talbert House Halfway House for Women in Cincinnati, and went on to establish an innovative multi-disciplinary program for those in need. Thereafter, Micke was a top selling real estate professional in Los Angeles and Hilton Head, a career she loved for its creativity and connection to people. In 2007, Micke moved to Jacksonville, FL, in 2010 to Louisville, KY, and in 2011, at the young age of 81, started anew in Sarasota. With a lifetime of purpose and pursuits, Micke was known for her brilliant mind, progressive thinking, energy, design talent, sense of style, and exceptional spirit. She had the remarkable ability to enlighten, endear and embrace everyone she encountered. Enduring years of health challenges, Micke's bravery was legendary and inspiring. Her final and most noble contribution to this world came by donating her brain to the Johns Hopkins University and the National Institutes of Health for scientific research. To honor Micke's legacy, donations may be made to Talbert House online at www.talberthouse.org or via check to Talbert House, 2600 Victory Parkway, Cincinnati, Ohio 45206.
