David was a dear friend and shining light for Marco Island and specifically both Marco Bay Yacht Club and Marco Island Yacht Club. We had the privilege of becoming Dave's friends at both clubs. Dave was a leader and fine example to all of us as a first class gentleman with his positive spirit, his expertise, and his willingness to help with everything. Particular fond memories for us were serving on the Board with Dave as well as the boat parades on his yacht. He always enthusiastically offered his yacht in the Christmas boat parade and walked away with countless honors for the club. We had the joy of participating on his yacht several years and what a joy that was. Dave was honored this year by the Marco Island Chamber of Commerce for his contributions to the community. Dave was a great man and he will be sorely missed but his legacy will live on. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Love, Alan & Linda Sandlin
