Jim was the friendliest neighbor, the first person to welcome my family to our little section of meadowbright lane. Daily I would pass him sitting on his porch, and he would smile and talk to my baby , all the while letting my dog slobber and wag all over him. We spoke of organic food passionately. His love for his family has inspired mine. I wish I had know how short time was, to not to have been able to say goodbye hurts everytime I look 2 houses down, every walk I take, every bite of organic food that I take.

In 2006 (I was 5 years old) I met my dad's friend Jim Gardner. I tried to pronounce his name but I couldn't. I tried to come up with a nickname for him. When he left I came up with the name JG.
It was 2010 (I was 9) and we were at camp. I asked JG if he would ride in the golf cart with me and let me drive. He had a beer in one hand and a flashlight in the other. We heard something. It was security, and he said, " Turn on your headlights. "
JG said, " They don't work that is why we have our flashlight. "
I will never forget that night. :( R.I.P

The time clock with it's 7 consistent numbers, like a robot, day in and day out. The break room full of hungry bellies, quiet minds and last night's party stories. A day full of colorful, eclectic individuals who ask for ointments to cure rashes, or if we have sandwiches to where's the bathroom. A day of inside jokes, laughter and getting real with the people that we call family, yet share not an ...ounce of the same DNA. To Jim, the first person to say hi after those 7 numbers were punched in. To being my lunch alibi and just getting real on days that were crazy. For being that amazing man and making me feel like family. Words cannot descibe a man of your being, you will be greatly missed and always remembered. You were a hero......

One of my favorite things about Jim was just simply hanging out. Sitting around with a glass of red wine or a beer enjoying his company and great conversation. He thought before he spoke, looked for a positive in every situation and knew how to have fun no matter where he was. My last visit with Jim was just a few short weeks ago, Tho the visit was short, I am thankful for just hangin' on the front porch, and the huge hug I was able to give him. I am blessed to have known Jim and will greatly miss him, Trayce

JIM WAS A GREAT GUY TO WORK WITH AND TO TALK TO. I ENJOYED WORKING WITH HIM AT WILD OATS IN PRODUCE AND IN RECEIVING AT TIMES. I HAD THE PLEASURE OF GOLFING WITH JIM A COUPLE OF TIMES AND IT WAS ALWAYS ENJOYABLE. JIM ALWAYS SMILED AND ALWAYS HAD POSITIVE THINGS TO SAY ABOUT PEOPLE. HE WILL BE MISSED AND I VALUE THE TIME THAT I DID GET TO SPEND WITH HIM.
