I am very sorry to hear of your loss. Bernie was a very special person and was well loved and respected by myself and truly all of the members of the Hendersonville Police Department where I served more than 30 years, with 20+ as Chief of Police. Bernie volunteered with us and was a wonderful resource, friend and co-worker. Her presence created such a positive work environment for everyone. I enjoyed many talks with Bernie during her years of volunteer service and for some time after she moved away. She will be missed and my prayers are with you all as a family. May God bless and comfort you all. Thank you for sharing your wonderful gift; Bernie. Donnie R. Parks Chief of Police, Ret. Hendersonville Police Department

Dear Busken Family, It was with great sadness that I read of Bernie's passing and I want to extend to you my heartfelt condolences. Eventhough the reason for this note is sad, at the same time it is a joy to remember so fondly such a wonderful and caring lady. I very much enjoyed seeing, talking and spending time with her when she came in to volunteer at the Police Department. Bernie had such a wonderful smile and caring nature and over the years it was more like coming in to spend time with family. She was very loved while here and she was greatly missed when she chose to move to be closer with her family there. I pray that God will fill the emptiness that her passing has left in your hearts and I know that He will continue walk with each of you as you travel this valley in the days and time ahead. God Bless You, Lt. Andre Massey Hendersonville Police Department
