I remember the night Julie and I went to see the Beach Boys in concert at the Cincinnati Gardens. I had just turned 16 and gotten my first driver's license. The concert was just a few weeks later and I talked my Mom into letting me drive her Ford Country Squire station wagon to pick up Julie and go to the concert. We had seats very close to the stage and we both were so excited to see them. Right before the concert ended, Julie sneaked back stage and got to meet the Beach Boys. I was happy for her but a bit miffed she hadn't taken me with her back stage. I soon got over that, however, and we remained best friends and graduated in 1967. I have often remembered her over the years as we were truly the best of best friends. May she rest in peace.
