Dear Paul, Mary and Family, It was with great sadness that I read about Pat's passing in today's Enquirer and I immediately thought of what a privilege it had been to take care of her over the years as she struggled to overcome her many health issues. And I always admired her attitude in the face of many HIGH hurdles. She could easily have become bitter and angry about the hand she had been dealt, but that just wasn't Pat! She was one of the toughest ladies I have known, except maybe for that one moment of weakness on that cruise when she let you buy that Picasso, Paul! The love, devotion and unwavering support that you all gave her over the years surely gave her great strength and comfort. Unfortunately, I won't be able to pay my respects in person, as we are going out of town tomorrow morning, but my thoughts and prayers will be with all of you as you get through these difficult and sad days. In spite of the sadness, I'm sure there will be plenty of smiling as you all celebrate a life well lived! I know that Pat will be sorely missed by many. You guys take care of yourselves and each other. Cookie
