Related to my previous post, here is a picture of that same paper back in 2016 where I wrote down his name in my breviary. Right before Mass somewhere in the Philippines in the Church of St. Peter the Apostle at 5pm, a woman approached me asking me to pray for a certain Salvatore Rose who just died at a young age. I still remember that moment. All I did starting then was to pray for any Salvatore Rose who died. Seeing his obituary here moved me today. I have been praying for him without even knowing him yet today, I feel all the more connected to him. Truly the Communion of the Saints moves us to pray for each other. I can truly say with more conviction at every Sunday Mass: “I believe in the Holy Spirit.... the communion of saints.” Rest in peace Salvatore! Please pray for my vocation! I’m currently in 2nd Yr Theology. You accompanied me in my seminary journey since 2016. If God willing I become a priest, I will offer my first Mass for you.

Back in 2016, a woman approached me asking me to pray for a certain Salvatore Rose. I never knew who he was but I started praying for his soul each day ever since and it’s now 2021. All I did was pray for a certain Salvatore Rose, a young boy who died. This happened in the Philippines. I had no idea about who he was but today I stumbled upon an obituary of a kid with the same name. I do not know if he is the same kid I have been praying for since 2016 but the name is striking. I will continue praying for his name daily in my Mass and breviary. I believe he died in the grace of God and I ask him to pray for me and my priestly vocation. Rest in peace Salvatore! I believe it was providential that I have been praying for you since 2016 thanks to that woman who approached me after Mass asking me to pray for you. Whoever she was, we spiritually became brothers and I believe we have been praying for each other ever since. May you rest in peace.

Thank you, Hans, for the note. No doubt this was same Salvatore Rose, my son who passed away in June of 2016.

I am Luke Bowles' aunt. Myself and my family have been praying for Sal and for all of you from the moment that we heard. We know that Sal is in heaven and our son, Ethan died at a week of age. I had the honor and privilege of baptizing Sal 13 years ago never imagining that he would leave this earth so soon. The Rose family have a powerful intercessor now and he will be praying for his mom and dad and siblings as they mourn his death. Only faith can sustain us in these hours of darkness and the sadness of death gives way to the bright promise of immortality since Christ died for our sins and rose from the dead. May Our Lady guide him safely home to the Lord.
