Mike and I are deeply sorry to hear about the death of your dad.
It was an honor for Mike to work for Bob at Kenwood Country Club. His life messages had a lot more to do with things other than golf. It was a wonderful time in our lives.

To my Dearest Foppe Family,
I spent limited time with Bob but enjoyed every minute of it. Now that he lays at rest my concerns turn to the family that has allowed me to be part of them. The sorrow of loosing a parent is unsurpassed. Don't let the pain overwhelm you. Ask our Savior for the guidance you need to cope with your loss. The tools of healing lie with HIm.

I have been in the PGA for 47 years. Bob Foppe was the golf professional that gave me my admission into the PGA in 1976. I've known Bob since I was a junior golfer in the mid to late 60's. Bob has always been a mentor to me as the type of golf professional that I would want to emulate.
I have done a lot of good things since I've been a golf professional, but I've always considered the decisions I would make, or committees I would sign up for in this profession, that would make me as good as Fopp.
My only regret now in life, is that I did not make the time to get into details about his life, his career, and his advice of how to be a better golf professional.
I will miss him dearly, but I know we will meet up again in the realm of life and eternity.

My parents, Bob and Jeanne Bokenkotter, were 51 year members at KCC so I knew Bob Foppe way back when!
Despite growing up at KCC, I picked up golf later in life. I love the game and when Steve Walker (my husband) asks if I'd like to warm up on the driving range, I always say no ... saving my good shots for the course.
M husband and I recently spent some time with Bob Foppe up at KCC this past July 4th. My father, Bob, passed several years ago. When I was talking with Bob Foppe, he told me how he remembered my dad and how my dad never wanted to warm up on the driving range ... that he was saving his good shots for the course. I had never known that about my dad. It made me feel that I was keeping a part of my dad alive.

Dear Foppe Family,
We very much regret not being able to attend our friend and neighbor Bob's last goodbye as we are presently in Nova Scotia and will not be back for another three weeks.
He will be truly missed but in our hearts know that he will finally be on his way to reunite with Miriam.
