Obituary of Frances L. Collopy

COLLOPY

Frances Louise (nee Hetterman), passed away peacefully on September 3rd, 2017, at St. Margaret Hall in East Walnut Hills.  Born in 1928 in Falmouth, Kentucky to Christian and Lucy Coleman Hetterman, Louise left her rural surroundings, moved to the Fontbonne in downtown Cincinnati, and was certified by the Miller School of Business.  She began her professional career in 1948 at Proctor & Gamble before joining Continental Insurance Associates, and not long after was elected president of the Cincinnati Association of Insurance Women.  In 1968, Louise married John T. Collopy, Jr., left her insurance job, and together they raised his nine children, all of whom will daily miss her generous heart and unselfish, Christian nature.  She was preceded in death by her husband, John, two brothers, William and Ralph, and three sisters, Mary, Eileen, and Ruth Ann.  She is lovingly survived by nine Collopy children, Michael (Nancy), Stephen, Daniel (Nancy – deceased), Paul (Pam), Rosemary (John) Cao, Jim (Patricia), David, Gary (Nancy), Catherine, eighteen grandchildren, three nieces, and four nephews.  Visitation will be from 5-7PM on Friday, September 8th at Thomas-Justin Memorial, 7500 Montgomery Rd. (45236). Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, September 9th at 9AM at St. Gertrude Catholic Church, 6543 Miami Ave. (45243). In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to St. Margaret Hall, 1960 Madison Rd. (45206) or Hospice of Cincinnati, PO Box 633597 (45263-3597).
