I worked with Dr. Kahl in the OR, he was always fun to work with and always had a joke to make us smile.

Dear Jimmy and Harold, I am so sorry to have missed your fathers funeral and seeing you as well. What a wonderful person he was and we had such a great time with your whole family in those years of travel hockey. What a meaningful legacy he left all who knew him. My deepest sympathy, Kathy DeWittdp9hq

To the family of Dr. Kahl-
I too was a swimmer and suffered an eye lid injury. Dr. Kahl did the surgery to correct it and you could not even tell years later. Such a great man with a tremendous talent to make people happy with the surgery he was able to do for them.
My parents, Karl and Lois Brown of Loveland, were great friends of his too. They always spoke so highly of him and so when I had surgery--I was not afraid!
He left a wonderful legacy.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all on this huge loss.
Karol (Brown) and Jon Warden

I am a former patient of Dr. Kahl's. So is my daughter, Natasha. Dr. Kahl performed a few surgeries for me, and when Natasha was a student at the University of MIchigan, she traveled back to Cincinnati to have Dr. Kahl carefully remove a cyst from her face. Not even a scar remains!. Natasha is a PhD anthropologist now, and she would talk about fossils, etc. with him. I am a former Jr. Olympic backstroker, so I would always talk to Dr. Kahl about swimming! In addition to medical issues, I was overwhelmed with Dr. Kahl's kindness and compassion. Dr. Kahl had a conversation with us; he didn't just speak "to you". I feel as if Dr. Kahl was representative on this earth of all we as humans are meant to be, but most of us fall short. I will always treasure my experience with him which was extraordinarily joyful.

Dr. Kahl was a wonderful surgeon to work with in the operating room. He was always a joy to work with.

I met Dr. Kahl in 1979 soon after our son Tommy (who now goes by Tom!) had fallen at preschool against the corner of a table and split open--to the bone-- the flesh around the eye socket of his left eye. Dr. Kahl calmed our very frightened little boy by talking soothingly to Tommy all the while he sewed the various layers of torn flesh. I know because I was there by our son's side. Today the scar is barely visible.
After that experience, I recommended Dr. Kahl to anyone I met who needed a plastic surgeon who actually cared about his patients.
My husband Jim and I are deeply sorry for your loss, and we pray for your comfort now and in the days, weeks, and months ahead. We ask that the Holy Spirit wrap you in His arms and hold you tightly with His everlasting love. -- Jim and Donna Hadley

I will always remember Dr. Kahl from the days of Cincy travel hockey. I played with his son Jimmy when we were approx 10-15 years old. Dr. Kahl supported the team behind the scenes by helping out the coaches and supporting the kids who couldn't afford all of the expenses. Super loyal to our families - and colorful in his interactions with the opposing team parents :)....He will be missed.
